Wild Turkey Leg & Thigh BBQ Sandwich – The Best BBQ Ever

    • 4 wild turkey legs and thighs
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 (12-ounce) bottle your favorite BBQ sauce
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Hamburger buns
    • Coleslaw (optional)
    • Pickles (optional)
    • Sliced red onion (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven or large ovenproof pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and cook until softened about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  5. Stir in the BBQ sauce and chicken broth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the wild turkey legs and thighs to the pot.
  8. Bring to a simmer, then cover and bake for 2 hours or until the turkey is tender and falling off the bone.
  9. Shred the turkey with two forks.
